Tuition is a major factor for many students, but it's complicated by other issues.

Textbook publishers, student loan companies, credit card issuers, landlords, and other industries have all taken advantage of students' lack of power. The overall cost of education far exceeds tuition itself.

But tuition is something our state can directly control.
